Rs30b decline in Govt. borrowings recorded: SBP

KARACHI: The government borrowings recorded a fall by Rs30 billion in one day.Central Bank statistics showed the volume of government loans in the week ending August 30 at Rs136 billion, while on September 1, declining by Rs30 billion pegged at Rs106 billion.

Similarly, the government borrowings from the Central Bank, which was at Rs150 billion on September 1, declined only in one day to the level of Rs49 billion. On the other hand, private sectors’ volume of loans also seen plummeted substantially by Rs20 billion.
